Office of the President
Dear students, prospective students, parents, and friends:
Welcome to 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½. You will find that there is a place for you, as there is for each of us, here at 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½. Our sanctuary campus is a safe haven where we can grow into our best selves.
Like many of you, I am a first-generation college student. At first, I was not convinced that I could handle college-level work. But dedicated mentors helped me to navigate obstacles like my first calculus class, keeping my confidence in tact in my earliest academic days. And, as a college athlete, my coach and my team became my support system. That experience not only shaped who I was as a student but it has continued to guide my work today.
I want you to know that, at 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½, your community has your back. You belong here. Youβre capable. Youβre worthy. We are committed to your success, and we will be with you every step of the way, even after you graduate, as our alumnae/i know.
Donβt worry if you have a moment where you feel a bit lost β physically, academically or socially. That happens to all of us. At 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½, someone is always there to help. Eventually that someone will be you. Thatβs what it means to belong to this community.
U.S. News and World Report ranked 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ a top performer for social mobility. We earned this distinction because our students are well-positioned to finish college and to find career paths that align with their calling. Within a year of graduating, more than 92 percent of 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ alumni are employed, in graduate school or participating in post-graduate service programs. Students and their families work hard to be here; these results demonstrate that their sacrifices are worth it.
Our students and alumni make me feel hopeful about the future. Never has our mission to pursue truth, give compassionate service and participate in the creation of a more just and humane world been more important than it is today.
You are our nationβs next generation of leaders. We need your talent, creativity and enthusiasm. I echo the sacred words of Saint Catherine of Siena: βBe who you are meant to be, you will set the world on fire.β
I look forward to seeing you on campus.
President Glena Temple
